Gruber: Slack Has Defined Modern Work

Perhaps this is the problem.

John Gruber on Daring Fireball:

I have a zillion complaints about Slack, but there’s no denying that, on the whole, it’s a great product and service, and has defined the modern framework for remote work and collaboration.

Perhaps this is the very problem with modern remote work. Slack has encouraged a version (vision?) of remote work that is synchronous, always-on and unnending.

It is the infinite scroll of your working life.

Surely there's a better vision of modern remote work than what Slack has been peddling.
